NAVI MUMBAI: To celebrate Word Bread Day on October 16, DY Patil Department of Hospitality and Tourism Studies will present breads from 20 different countries on Thursday. The event will be hosted by hospitality students. As an extension, the students will invite city housewives to attend the event. House wives will be given live demonstration on not just making bread but also baking cakes and cookies.

Homemakers interested in baking have the opportunity to witness the artistic creations that is possible in making breads. In event of word Bread Day celebrated on October 16, DY Patil Department of Hospitality and Tourism Studies will be presenting breads from different countries. The event will be held on October 17 and 18. It will have students of hospitality displaying their talent in making bread presentations. " Students have to create variety of worldwide breads of around 20 countries as part of their curriculum. As an extension to this activity is the invite to city housewives. Even children with special needs would be visiting the presentation," said Chef Siraj M Shaikh, Associate Professor (Bakery and Patisserie). House wives will be given live demonstration on not just making of bread but also on cake and cookie making and decoration. Towards the end of the workshop they would be also given the recipes. The institute will also be creating sugar craft. "Getting housewives and special children involved is intended to spread awareness about bread and its ways of making all over the world. The recipes should motivate the ladies to give a shot in making bread of international stature," adds the chef.
